United Plantation Berhad ("we", "our", or "us") operates the UPRD Mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information in connection with your use of the App.

UPRD Mobile is an internal enterprise application intended exclusively for authorized employees of United Plantation Berhad and its divisions (Seed Production Unit, Field Processing, and related departments). It is not available to the general public.

We collect only the information necessary to operate the App:
- Employee credentials – your employee ID and password used to authenticate your session.
- Work activity data – field processing records, task progress, pollination logs, and similar operational data you enter while using the App.
- Device information – device model, OS version, and app version for diagnostic purposes.
- Local storage – data cached locally on your device via SQLite to enable offline functionality.
We do not collect personal financial information, precise GPS location, contacts, camera access, or any data unrelated to operational workflows.
4. How We Use Your Information
- To authenticate and authorize your access to divisional features.
- To record, sync, and store operational field-processing data.
- To support offline functionality through local device storage.
- To diagnose technical issues and improve App stability.
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. Data Storage and Security
Data entered in the App is stored locally on your device and synchronized to our secure company servers hosted within the United Plantation Berhad infrastructure. All data in transit is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS encryption).
Access to server-side data is restricted to authorized IT personnel and relevant departmental supervisors. We apply reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure.
6. Data Retention
Operational records are retained in accordance with United Plantation Berhad's internal data governance policies. Local device data may be cleared when you log out of the App or uninstall it.
7. Your Rights
As an authorized user, you may:
- Request access to data recorded under your account.
- Request correction of inaccurate records through your department supervisor.
- Request deletion of your account data by contacting IT support, subject to operational retention requirements.
8. Third-Party Services
The App is built using Expo (React Native) and may use the following third-party infrastructure:
- Expo Application Services (EAS) – for app distribution and updates.
These services operate under their own privacy policies. We do not share personally identifiable employee data with these services beyond what is technically required for app delivery.
9. Children's Privacy
This App is not directed at individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be communicated through internal company channels. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
